I opt a knitted acrylic resin facemask that is extra long and will tuck into the front and back of a jacket. I too have grievous problems retention my feet warm on the stand or on the ice in cold brave but I conceive I have found my solution. They are comfortable, by and large waterproof and keep the feet warm when the brave out is cold. A foot seat knit with a hydrophobic fiber like olefine or Coolmax will repel and move moisture. These are my gun time of year boots, also small game and general woods walking. The specially hardened antibacterial leather is designed to block human odors for the life of the boot. I always thought they were a gimmick, until I picked up a pair dirt cheap a twin years ago.
This practice is great as it uses light colours to get great contrast. So, go out and get some good cold brave out gear, eat a big meal, and head to the forest. I use very thick moisture wicking socks with a moisture wicking liner for very cold atmospheric condition down to metier moisture wicking socks and no liner for warm sits.
